Jheric Hizon — Hip Hop & Break Dance

Jheric Hizon began his professional career teaching while still in high school. Today, he maintains a hectic schedule as an international dance instructor, choreographer, adjudicator and performer.

He recently worked for Project So in Tokyo, Japan. A company that is involve in producing the next big performers in Television, Music, and Movies. Other performances include The Black Eyed Peas, Dance Delight, Concert openings, Mercedes Benz, Nike Presto, Disney Radio and Ayumi Hamasaki (Japans Queen of pop).

Considered by many as a pioneer in the Vancouver street dance scene, Jheric has taught many students who are now teachers themselves. Apart from dancing, he has appeared in several television shows, commercials, documentaries and a feature film. Along with his performing career, he’s had the privilege of judging and teaching over 30,000 dancers across North America and Southeast Asia at dozens of dance studios, conventions and competitions.

Jheric specializes in Hiphop and Breakin. He’s also been trained in Pop, lock, house, street jazz, acro and is currently being trained in modern and west coast swing.

Jesse Enright — Yoga

Jesse Enright has been a student of Yoga for eleven years and an instructor for the past nine. He began his studies with Sivananda Yoga before exploring the more dynamic Ashtanga Vinyasa, the detailed alignment of Iyengar and the comprehensive intelligence of Vijnana Yoga. He has studied and practiced under senior instructors in India, Australia, Canada and the U.S. Jesse was a full-time instructor at the DownwardDog Yoga Centre in Toronto for five years and completed their one-year teacher training program before moving to Vancouver in 2002. Jesse credits his excellent teachers and his training in anatomy and postural analysis for his detailed, informative style of instruction. His classes blend the challenge and flow of vinyasa with deep alignment and a lighthearted approach.

Anita Perel-Panar — Director

Anita Perel-Panar has been an educator for 30 years. She has a Master of Arts degree in Drama Education, focusing on the development of artistic potential; a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Music; and extensive training in Ballet and other forms of dance. Anita founded the Music Studio in 1973, where she developed a progressive program for teaching music, dance, and drama to children from the ages of 18 months to 18 years.

Anita's passion for the arts coupled with her love for teaching has led her to establish the A Star Performing & Fine Arts Studio. Her dream to integrate the arts where students can develop their creative, expressive, and physical potential is now a reality. She is thrilled to be working with such talented and dedicated teachers who share her vision and join her in providing an excellent education.

Susan Miyagishima — Stage Manager

Susan Miyagishima is a graduate of the intensive acting program at the Vancouver Film School. While completing her Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology at UBC, she turned her sights towards stage management. She has been working with A Star Studio as their Resident Stage Manager and Production Assistant for over 3 years. Her other credits include : The Baccae (UBC Theatre - ASM), The Wiz (Zealous Minds & Arts Umbrella), Bruk (Jackal Empire), Sex in Vancouver; Doin' It Again (VACT), Cowboy Vs. Samurai (VACT). She is currently studying Theathre Production at Studio 58.

Jonathan "Jojo" Zolina - Hip Hop

An extraordinarly eclectic freestyle dancer and choreographer, Jojo the "Kinetic Philosopher", is greatly respected for his wokr in the dance community worldwide. He is not only esteemed for his eye-popping movement, but also the love and passion he puts into every aspect of his career. Jojo melds a diverse fusion of dance styles; traditional ethic folk dance, hip hop, funk styles, vogueing, wacking, house, reggaeton, dancehall, contempoary and salsa. His resume includes performances with such musical talents as Nelly Furtado, K-OS, Jordan Knight, Dogg Pound, Micheal Buble and the Roots. Jojo Zolina's versatility has put him in him demand as a performer and choreographer.
